Our Lab

We know the chemistry and you know the business

Welcome to our lab!

This year, in LC Xanthi’s lab we are experimenting on the beer production. Our goal is to use automatic systems with the help of Arduino to perfect our BRewing and produce the ideal beer. Obviously, in today's world, automatic systems are much needed in various scientific fields. They help reduce the cost of production while at the same time the final product becomes better and more effective. This is what we want to achieve in our lab with your help: use Arduinos to control the production of our beer and make sure the final draft is magical!

And now a few words about our city Xanthi. It is located in Northen Greece, specifically in Thrace. A beautiful city full of students and exciting places to visit, such asthe path of life, the old town with the traditional architecture and of course the little alleys with the beguiling smell of traditional cooking and drinks.

The Organizing Team

Who We Are

The local commitee of Xanthi was founded in 2010 from students in the faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Democritus University of Thrace. Back then our observer was counting only two members. It was with their persistence and efforts, that on the beginnings of 2013 a massive growth of registrations has occurred and now LC Xanthi counts about 65 active members and more than 110 registered members! In the meanwhile, Mr. Georgios Kiriakou, Professor of the Telecommunication and Space Department, took on the responsibility of being in charge of our local commitee.

Our first international workshop , Rock the Bit ,took place in November 2013 with 10 participants from all over Europe, that had excellent feedbacks! In 4 May 2014, our local committee was promoted in LC, as a result of our hard work!Since then , we have organised two international workshops as well as an Exchange in Thassos and a lot of local events!

After all these years we have gained a lot of experience and knowledge and at the moment we are working really hard in order to prepare another amazing workshop base on how we can use the Internet Of things in order to create a Smarthouse! The EESTEC spirit is powerful among us and we guarantee that our event will be an event worth to remember!
